DOLCE & GABBANA A/W15

It was Dolce and Gabbana that made me fall in love with fashion, I just adored their use of extravagant and bold colours. I loved the style of the designers, who had been obsessed with Italian culture, stemming their inspiration from deep and strange woods to even Italian food. The collections, to me, seemed like a moment of 70+ looks where models were cultured and stylish at the same time, walking down the longest runway I had ever seen. And this season, the designer-duo were inspired by the best source of inspiration, their mothers. The line-up featured 11 models with their own children, walking down the runway and D&G favourite Bianca Balti, who was pregnant with her second child, sporting the happiest smile I'd ever seen.

The collection really melted the coldest of hearts, there were dresses which featured drawings by Domenico's nieces and nephews which had adorable little sketches and tiny scribbles on them. The collection was carried with a really good spirit, the infants put on a dazzling spectacle, which was inspiring to see. There is a sense of wit and joy in this collection, which Dolce and Gabbana hadn't shown in a while. Their collections can be a little dry at times, but this show was certaintly a breath of fresh air and I guess that's mother's day sorted.
